This is the day we got married. We looked gorgeous. We went to Arkansas to get married.
Originally, we wanted a wedding. I wanted the boho dress I’d always dreamed of; complete with a headband of real wildflowers.
I try to move forward positively in my life most of the time, but this is one of those life moments that I continue to look back on with brokenness.
My parents refused to meet my wife for 9 months. They love her now, and I am so proud. However, I was not entirely sure if they would show up if we had a wedding, let alone take joy in planning with me.
Prior to our Arkansas escape, My best friend of 20 years told me she couldn’t be my maid of honor. She declined. She then stated she wasn’t sure if she could come to my wedding at all.
Yes, it’s so good. Life out. Life with her. I wish I could look at this moment with my loved ones by my side.
